Micah6 is a registered NPO #79-288 with Section 18A status, allowing us to issue tax certificates for donations of goods and services in terms of labour time provided.

Indirect rands-cents involvement:
Get a Woolworths “MY SCHOOL CARD” (with beneficiary being Sparks Estate Secondary School).
Apply at http://www.myschool.co.za/
Just swipe your MySchool Card every time you buy at Woolworths/ Foodlovers/ Kalahari.net and 1% of your purchase will be given to Sparks Estate School. This will help pay for teachers’ salaries and better tuition which ultimately improves the quality of education each girl receives. Micah6 is represented on the school governing body at Sparks Estate Secondary School ensuring the appropriate use of MySchool donations towards the school. If you already have MySchool Card and support a well-resourced school, please reconsider your beneficiary! It is possible to have up to 3 MySchool Card beneficiaries.

Time Involvement:
  • Volunteer to provide mentorship to girls.
  • Volunteer to get involved in a weekly homework club for boys and girls at Sparks Estate Secondary School.
  • Volunteer to teach an extra mathematics class.
  • Volunteer to source / donate second-hand computers/laptops to add to a very outdated and insufficient school computer facility.
  • Volunteer to teach computers to kids who have never used a computer! This does not require a teaching degree. If you know how to navigate Google and type a few words you are the person for the job.
  • Volunteer to get involved in thinking/brainstorming and implementing changes to transform Sparks Estate into an ever improving service provider to children.
